Dan Pink’s “A Whole New Mind”

I recommended this book to my colleagues over a year ago and I just started re-reading it ...

My favorite quote ...

Turkey Alert!

twitter_lga.jpg

Thanksgiving is always the busiest time for travelers.  Images of delayed flights, canceled flights, abandoned people sleeping on the floor at LGA, BOS, JFK, ORD, ... Chaos!

Technology has come to the rescue in the past few years. Well, maybe not to the rescue, but at least to the aid of the frustrated and harried traveler. My favorite is OrbitzTLC.

This year I've become a Twitter freak and was amused when I read this tweet from La Guardia Airport.

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm planning to eat Turducken tonight!

Kiss me! I’m from TORYORKOIT!

AT&T has this cool new “where do you live?” campaign that highlights individuals who work, live and play in multiple cities. I spend most of my working life in three cities (Toronto, New York and Detroit). I went to the site, entered these three cities and it generated this cool new t-shirt - Only $25.95!

Kosher Ham? Latke Soda? Happy Chrismukah!

I love Jones Soda - their innovative product offering and personalized labels are a big hit. For this year's holiday season, they are launching a  special pack for Christmas and Chanukah.

According to the Jones Soda website: "The Chanukah Pack, complete with dreidel, was created with an audience of Rabbis and in the true spirit of the Jewish tradition. In continued support of this charity, Jones Soda will be donating a portion of the sales of the Chanukah Pack to Vitamin Angels with a minimum contribution of $10,000. Vitamin Angel Alliance is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization created in 1994 to fight malnutrition and childhood blindness around the world"

This Chanukah there will be no regular latkes or sufganiyot for me - only Kosher Latke soda (and I may try the Kosher Ham flavor too!)

@ioubeer

Here's an elegant and fun application from SimpleBits that lets you manage who you owe a beer to and vice versa. It uses Twitter as its delivery / distribution mechanism.

Why bother? Why would you want to send someone a beer? Well, foamee says it best:

"Beer is currency! And if you’re like us, you’re saying 'I owe you a beer' often. Foamee is simply a fun way to keep track of those I.O.U.s. It can also be just a little virtual pat-on-the-back for good deeds."

If you want to buy me a beer, twitter the following: "@ioubeer @davidfeldt Cheers!"

The final nail in the Cingular coffin

I've always loved the Cingular brand and was mortified when AT&T decided to simply destroy billions of dollars of brand equity represented by the Cingular name.

In a recent AdAge poll, over 70% of people agreed.

Last night I received 6 (SIX!) emails from my "new ATT" to tell me that my mobile email address was being changed for me.

Here's the sad email I received this morning to confirm the change ... it's a generic email that is SPAM and the final note at the end was the final nail in the coffin.
