An amazing recap of an amazing initiative. To be involved with Twestival TO was a humbling experience for me, and has jump-started so much more. On top of that, the global scale and success of the Twestival initiative is unlike any other.

It's really why Twestival was so important to me, something I discussed a little while ago at http://sati.sh/2009/02/why-i-got-involved-with-....

The power to do good with social media lies in the hands of those that can transform crowds into communities, Twitterers into friends.

I love the thinking behind this admirable effort and only wish I had known about it so that I could have contributed in some small way.
I live in a country which is sorely in need of water for the masses, I also worry about the fact that the victims of AIDS and Cholera are buried in their thousands. Surely polution to the water table must occur? I feel that under existing circumstances, cremation should become the order of the day. Yes, there is no doubt that this practice is unacceptable. Both traditionally and by way of religious persuasion. However, given the implications, should there not be a focus on re-education?

My sincere congratulations to all who gave so genrously of their time and their means.

You can all walk tall, heads held high in the knowledge that you have made the lives of many, healthier and happier.
